Cadet Kayla Browne – 2026 Detachment 159 Alumni Scholarship Recipient

Cadet Kayla Browne was selected as the recipient of the Detachment 159 Alumni Scholarship for her exceptional embodiment of the values that define our alumni community: leadership, mentorship, service, and commitment to preserving the culture and heritage of Detachment 159. In her application, Kayla reflected on the profound impact of recent Detachment 159 graduate and alumnus Juan Mejia, whose mentorship helped guide her academic, professional, and personal development throughout her AFROTC journey. As an aerospace engineering student and active member of Arnold Air Society, Kayla demonstrated a deep appreciation for the legacy built by generations of Detachment 159 cadets and alumni. She expressed a strong desire to continue that tradition by serving future cadets as a mentor and role model, particularly for young women pursuing careers in the Air Force. Her thoughtful reflections on leadership, heritage, and giving back to the Det 159 family distinguished her application and exemplify the lasting bond between our cadets and alumni.
